We monitored the performance of job postings with and without boosting on Facebook. By committing a daily budget of $1 to boost the advertisement, the job posting views increased by at least 8x than a traditional post listed on Facebook. By increasing the daily budget to $3, job posting views increased up to 30x.
Based on the results of the Facebook campaigns and positive feedback from the employers, job boards should look to include ‘Targeted Social Media Marketing’ into their services as an up-sell opportunity.
Why Did Targeted Facebook Ads Work?
When creating the promotion, Facebook provides an extensive number of segmentation options, such as; age, gender, location and interests. By narrowing down the ideal audience within a 50 mile radius of job location with similar interests, the job posting was presently to the passive audience with relevant content.
How To Complete Your First Facebook Ad
- Upon logging into Facebook, select ‘Promote’ in the bottom left section of your navigation
- Select ‘Get More Website Visitors’
- Now the fun part of building your ad and segmenting the audience. We recommend including image(s), informative text like salary range, benefits, etc. and narrowing down the audience to within 50 miles of the job posting location.
- Facebook requires a minimum daily budget of $1. They provide insights into the expected results and traditionally are quite accurate
